I know the truth when you lie
I know the secret when you hide

I know when you fool me
I know everything about you before the first time you speak to me
I know everything because I am your mother And

जब खुली थी आँखे देखा था एक प्यारा सा चेहरा,
झलक रहा था दर्द उसके चेहरे पर मुझे देखकर मुस्कुरा रहा था वो चेहरा |

खुद कमजोर हो गयी थी हमे वो जन्म देकर,
फिर भी रखती थी हमारा पूरा ख्याल वो सब कुछ भूलकर,
जाने कितनी ही रातों की नींद ख़राब की हमने उसकी रो रो कर,
पर फिर भी उसने शिकायत नहीं की ओर प्यार दिया अपना हरपल हस हस कर |

बाहो में वो अपनी हमे हरपल रखा करती थी,
रात दिन हमे वो अपने गले लगाकर इधर उधर घुमाया करती थी,
थक कर कभी वो हमारे पास लेटा करती थी,
बस अपनी प्यार भरी नज़रो से हमे लगातार देखा करती थी |

कुछ नहीं चाहती थी वो हमसे पर उसे एक लालच जरूर था,
सुन्ना चाहतीं थी वो 'माँ' शब्द मेरे मुँह से, बस इसी बात का उसे इंतज़ार था,
वक़्त जरूर लगा और एक दिन आया,
माँ माँ कहता हुआ मैं पुरे घर में भवरे की तरह मड़राया,
कोई ठिकाना नहीं रहा उसकी ख़ुशी का,
गले लगाकर हमे वो खूब रोई,
प्यार अब उसका अपनी चरम सीमा पर था,
अब तो इसका अहसास उसे हमारी तरफ से भी था |

लगा दी होगी जी जान तूने उसे पाने में ,

वक़्त आया होगा जब बिखरकर रोया होगा तू किसी कोने में,

ओर अपनी हिम्मत, उत्साह ओर सपने दबा दिए होंगे तूने किसी बक्से में,

चल रहा होगा अकेला किसी अँधेरे रास्ते में,
